St. Joseph represents a traditional rectangular church design enhanced by distinctive architectural features. The structure benefits from circular and clerestory windows that flood the interior with natural light, creating a bright and welcoming worship space.
Architect Otto Dreyer (1897–1972), a student of Karl Moser known for crafting high-quality ecclesiastical buildings, designed this church. Construction began in 1940, though the distinctive clock and bell tower — which rises several stories and features ornate carved details with a cross crowning its peak — was not completed until 1952.
The sanctuary showcases a raised altar positioned above the congregation to encourage active participation in the liturgy. The altar area includes a carved tabernacle, with a baldachino and hanging lights suspended above. A supporting column helps anchor this elevated focal point within the church.
