Marienthal is an Alsatian village situated approximately 15 miles from Strasbourg. The location is home to a beautiful Carmelite chapel that historically served both French and German nuns.
The bronze church door was created by sculptor Edwin Scharff, with the work depicting the creed through pictorial emblems. The interior contains a beautifully appointed altar featuring a silver tabernacle. The tabernacle displays the Sacred Heart, encircled by a crown of thorns. The chapel also includes a black altar with carved stone details, statues, and a crucifix, with the original altar preserved behind it.
The cloister features metal and wood railings embellished with liturgical symbols. A winged statue stands outside the cloister, adding to the site’s spiritual atmosphere.
