About the Cards
Fr. Domin described these cards as early creative attempts at “healing art” that supported his recovery from severe depression, alongside prayer and medicine. They represent the intersection of his spiritual life and artistic practice.
About the Artist
Ordained in 1950, Fr. Domin served the Diocese of Western Oregon for over 62 years. His artistic training included study at San Damiano Studio in Chicago, collaboration with Lloyd Reynolds (Oregon’s Calligrapher Laureate), and summer courses with Corita Kent in Los Angeles. He taught art at Central Catholic High School and served as Chairman of the Sacred Art Commission for the Archdiocese of Portland from 1958 to 1988.
Fr. Domin designed and remodeled over 100 churches and chapels in Oregon following Vatican II. Several received national recognition, including St. Joseph in Roseburg and St. Alice in Springfield.
